The 51st anniversary of Brdská stezka race

It was a tradition for many years that in the spring you have to go to Mníšek pod Brdy, the small picturesque town at the foot of the Brdy mountain range. It was Honza Zajíček who started this tradition and for many years, it was connected with the Kovohutě area in Mníšek pod Brdy. Originally the race was called Stezkou brdských partizánů. It was precisely this race which started the tradition of dividing the 100km races into a night and day part starting and ending in the same place. Time goes on and Pepa Krejsa takes over the organization. The new name Brdská stezka was introduced in the 1990s, and seventeen years later the uncrowned queen in the length of 100 km was terminated. The baton was taken over by running races. The routes have been changed as well, the common goal is the Studený vrch lookout tower. Let´s jump to 2017 when the race celebrated its 50th anniversary. Unfortunately, Pepa decided to stop organizing the race and not to continue this tradition. Hopefully, the story will have a happy ending after all, because we decided to continue organizing the race and for the 51st anniversary we bring the return of the 100km course.
